and what will happen if you don't use the pistons...over compression...detonation?

The way the new heads an intake manifolds are designed they elminated the center cross over and uses the two big ones at the ends of the heads. Another reason why we can't use our intake manifolds with the new heads.

man i cant believe that tiny little difference in the pistons is the difference between life and death. i still need headers, pistons, and time. (and misc stuff like pfft gaskets, hoses, w/e.) in the meantime i should be cleaning and painting my other parts, but i just havent gotten to it.

oh, head on over to the tuning section i found out a way to completely custom tune for the 3.4l. little involved but especially helpful for fi cars and people running bigger injectors.

should be WAY easier than megasquirt too. (and probably cheaper.)

believe it.. too high of a compression ratio leads to detonation.. detonation destroys engines...

no no no...not where the heads and intake bolt together...the coolant pasage betwine the cylnders that go into the head through the block into the heads...next to the valves...it doesn't cross over...theres no place for the coolant in the block to go

              soo.

im thinking about getting the comp k kit to install whenever i rebuild.

now should i get new rockers while im at it?

will they even work with the aluminum heads (or any of the other parts that come with the k kit like the valve springs) ? are the rockers in the aluminum heads ok to use?

If you are shooting for performance, I would do EVERYTHING while you still have it apart. And then go to a machine shop and have someone make you a copper head gasket :)

my concern is if the new rockers will work with the aluminum heads and what the deal is with the ratio.

is 1.52:1 ok? (stock is 1.5:1)

http://www.ftpp.net/V6/Internal%20En...ker%20Arms.htm (the comp cams magnum ones)

                  what about 1.6:1?
i dont really know internal stuff.

i have this brilliant idea to use fiero headers or manifolds as forward flowing headers for a turbo. but i think the accessories get in the way. it most likely wouldnt be a direct bolt on. :(

Just out of curiosity, can this be made to work with the RWD 3.4?

                      http://60degreev6.com/store/index.ph...d&productId=59

EDIT: The reason I ask this question is because I've heard that the 3500 top end is too tall, but I was wondering if the upper intake was the limiting factor in this situation. This package uses a 3400 upper intake, and I was wondering if that would resolve the situation?

that would be pointless...the uper intake is part of the problem

Hmmmmmm, not sure if you closely observed the information. 3500 heads, 3500 lower intake manifold, 3400 upper intake manifold.

just a quick question... if the air intake is the downside of the 3.4, why not just bolt on the intake from a 2.8 fiero motor. Just as they do in the 3.4 swap for the fieros. thnx
