im splittin hairs cause this is an arguement that me and my buds were havin the other night...and I just don't see how our car is any different the a GNX other then we dont have a turbo (forget the power difference)...a 5.0L mustang has 225 hp, thats a muscle car...so Im saying why wouldnt we be classified as muscle cars...and you cant say cause were not a v8 cause neither is the gnx

well i consider an american made (usually older, but not always) V8 two door car a muscle car... i would say we are the economical version of the real muscle car... which to me makes it a sports car...

            Re: 3.8L camaro muscle car?

the difference is this, when you pull up next to a gnx you go, OH ****, i might not want to **** with that. back in the day, same could be said for the 5.0 (and even the first few years of 4.6s since the only things that beat on them were lt1s for the most part)

unless its a heavily modded v6 fbody, nobody is going to say that to a bolt on car or stock.

1996-02 cars only...my point is most of the cars you list can prolly beat up on the 5.0's as well, or 66 mustangs, or some of the older muscle cars as well

                      Re: 3.8L camaro muscle car?

i would say the only true muscle car is a dodge viper. Only comes in manual, doesnt come with traction control, doesnt have all the fancy gizmos. What it does have is brute strength. and dead sexy looks

brute strength + sexy looks = muscle car

                      Abbott long tubes,homemade true duals,slp ram air,whisper lid,eibach springs,kyb shocks,BMR subframe connectors, BMR LCA reloc brackets,BMR LCAs. T-top/manual converted

                              I would consider a Viper a sports car/super car.

and no **** there are new cars that can beat older ones, but in their times, theres not much that could hang.
