  • Started porting upper.middle.lower intake

Here is the first ported runner on the middle intake. I have quite a few more to go but ive got all winter to finish this and port the heads.

Here is a pic of the motor with the top end mostly...off and a pic of the runner. I still need to even out the sides but its a start.

ill add more pics at the gring continues. Im hoping 5-10Hp from the porting the intakes and heads. Im know its not gonna net many Hp but while I had the motor apart Id figure i should go ahead and gasket match some ports. Alot of extra aluminum in there.

Just remember that smooth ports kill flow.

Ok ive heard both to smooth the ports and to leave them rought..

I hear that you can smooth out ports before the fuel goes into the ports and all exhaust ports....... Only rough it up when fuel is in the ports...????????

I need to make the 4th port from the left a little bit wider.. but else than that i got all the bulk out of them im gonna get.

                Sanding roll.

You want to create some slight turbulence or the air will want to stack up.

Are you doing the lower while it's still bolted to the motor?

Just making sure. Kinda tough to tell from that last pic. You could smooth it out a little more though. Also, you need to get all the way to the bottom of the port.

Heres what I did tonight. I noticed that there was extra material at the throttle body intake on the manifold. I smothed out what i could take off and added 3mm of circumfrince to the size of the opening and it matches the throttle body perfect!
