    Re: stalling

the honeycomb inside of the cat looked like it was collapsing under the pressure of the exhaust trying to exit through the converter. I was surprised to, because i thought there would be no way the thing is going bad after only 50k miles, but i guess it could have been a faulty part or something. Well the idle is smoother, and now i have almost no rasp comming out of my exhaust, and my gas mileage is already looking better.

Here are a few pics of the cat and what the inside looked like, it was worse, i shook some of the metal crap out of it when first took it off. click on the pics to make em bigger, the first one shows it the best

Yeah I had like.. 45k miles on mine when it went bad. The bottom of the casing had an outward bulge from heat. And it rattled when I started it up till it got warmer. Got rid of the cat, installed an 02 sim and never had a problem since.
