go to a bigger diameter piping such as 2.5in or 3in. from y-pipe back since you dont have a cat anymore. Also if you have the money buy a Borla catback system.

larger diameter piping and headers should deepen it nicely

you don't have a cat so it's illegal already

yes it is illegal in ohio. Man just get a cutout. It's easy to install, and you wont get caught if u get an electric one. I'm sure u already know that we dont have e-check anymore, so you will be fien with it.

For a legal setup, an aftermarket cat and a Flowmaster 40 Series (only one outlet, but it has a nice tone for the V6) Most anything else will sound like rice when revved in the higher RPMs. You might loose some torque if you increase the diameter of the pipe, but I doubt very much.

i like the setup i have so im gonna keep the muffler i just want it deeper and a lil louder....the cutout is too loud for me im thinking like bigger piping or headers i mainly want to know which would deepen it more

Re: best way to deepen exhaust tone?

flowmaster catback comes with a resonator in the piping to make it sound deeper.

The flowmaster exhaust sounds terrible on the V6. I'm personally a fan of magnaflow for sound. A 3" magnaflow with Pacesetter headers has a deep smooth sound to it. The cutout sounds like complete crap after about 2k RPM's IMO.

are you guys seriously recommending flowmaster? Flowmaster is the worst choice for a v6. It's well known flowmaster is one of the worst performance AND sound in aftermarket exhaust. I won't say they are complete crap, because i'd still take it over stock, but not much more.
Magnaflow and Borla are the best sounding i've heard and most would agree. they are also better flowing than flowmaster.
