I got mine from the GP at the begging of this week. I took mine to a shop and boy am I glad I did. One of the bolts on the passenger side was broken already (I have a 97 camaro). I thought I heard leak but I could not pin point it. Anyway. He's put heat on every bolt in order to get them out. He's been working on it off an on all day Friday and Saturday (today). I talked to him around 3 today and he said it'll be Monday before he's done.

The nice thing is I was quoted 250 (that's 250 for the header install and to put on a new hi-flow cat and 3 inch cat back piping, I had all the parts) for the install. The guy told me today he's going to stick to that but he'll never do it again for under 500. I told him I would compensate him on the side and that I appreciate everything he has done so far. I figure if I compensate him on the side he'll make sure it's done right the first time.

Anyway we'll see. Good luck with your install. Since your car is a 01 I would not expect the bolts to be too tough....

Cause the guy at the shop was probably working on mine while it was cold. I new I had a leak somewhere and anticipated problems and when this shop said 250 I jumped on it. *shrug* sounded fair at the time. Now I think I got the better end of the deal by far with the problems this guy is having. Like I said I'll compensate him once it's done...

I used the stock gaskets that came with the pacesetters, and surrounded each exhaust port with ultra copper. No leaks at all.

What gaskets would you recommend? I'm not too sure about the paper ones that came with the pacesetters.

I used the paper ones and am not leaking or anything. Just clean the head, clean the flange, use some GM high temp silicone and you're good to go.

You can use GM high temp, or Ultra Copper (which is available at autozone etc. near the silicones, and jb weld etc.)
