Are there any differences between the size of the LT1 and LS1 I-pipes, or are they both 2.75 inches? Any difference in hangers? Will the LS1 fit a 3.4? The reason I ask is because I know a kid who may get a Z28, but I don't know if he's getting an LT1 or an LS1. He will probebly put a catback on it, so I'd like to buy his I-pipe. Thanks!

LT1 & LS1 I-pipe differences?

The LS1 and dual cat LT1 (96-97) have an I pipe that stops short of the s-bend. It's because the V8 y-pipe on the dual cat cars extends further back and goes right into an I pipe. If your friend buys a 93-95 LT1, it should have a single cat, unless it was a 95 California car. The single cat LT1 has an I pipe just like the V6 models do.

Thanks for the info dude. I guess those LS1 and dual cat LT1s won't fit. The I pipe WILL work. Either one will work for your car with the exception of replacing the hangers which is not a big deal. I have a 97 Z28 I Pipe on my 2000 and it routed perfectly. But, it didn't have the S bend and replaced the hangers.99 Camaro Z28 A4
R.I.P. 00 Firebird 3.8
14.89 @ 90, 2.03 60\'

Building the Tom Henry RS
Part 4: Suspension Mods, Tires, Wheels, Headers and other Cool Stuff.
By: Hib Halverson
At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...02-07-2020, 10:30 PM
