How restrictive is the ribs inside the factory lid?
\"Well, we don\'t care how bad-*** some dude\'s N/A Honda S2000 motor is; if you go up against 900+ pushrod ponies and 750 pounds of earth-shaking torque with a wrong-wheel-drive econobox, you\'re gonna get a fast and furious old-school ***-whipping.\"Tags: None

The best I can tell you is that they are as restrictive as they look. Honestly I dont think shaving them down is worth the time for what you are going to get out of it. But if you really have a lot of time on your hands and nothing to do then go for it. Hope you're happy with the end result.Shawn
2002 Silver W68 Firebird

o i have tons of time on my hands and its not too hard to do. better than pikin up a whisper lid for big$$$.\"Well, we don\'t care how bad-*** some dude\'s N/A Honda S2000 motor is; if you go up against 900+ pushrod ponies and 750 pounds of earth-shaking torque with a wrong-wheel-drive econobox, you\'re gonna get a fast and furious old-school ***-whipping.\"

I noticed a small gain in top end when I did it, very small, but I could tell a tad of a difference. It only took me like 30 minutes to do, I just grabbed each of the ribs with pliers and they snapped right out. I did it to hold me over till I have more cash for a whisper, but I doubt it'll be much different between the whisper and !bafflesAIM: Alientr8tr
1998 Camaro 3.8L
Flowmaster 80-series, !FRA, Eibach Springs, KYB AGX, SLP sway bars, 3.42/LSD, Wings West kit, Z06 Motorsports, Silverstone Metallic paint
Shift 5 - My Band

yeah, I just did that mod this weekend cause I was bored. Easy to do, but I honestly dought it will do as much as an after market lid. Like MustangEater8251 said, the bigger gains of aftermarket lids come from the bigger outlet that goes to the TB. The stock outlet is friggen tiny. Oh well, I dont have money for a new lid so I've done the cheep/free intake mods.98 White T-Top Firebird
w/ the crome 5 star rims
FRA, Smoothed stock lid,
Dynomax Super Turbo Exhaust
http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/view_page.pl?page_id=346111
