    I found a dealer that is by me and I am probibly going to stop in some time soon. I was at there websight and they said that the 80 series is for V8 cars only, I have seen that some of you have it on your V6, does it work?
    I was wondering if the 80 series is not the one then which one is? the 60, or 40?
    I dont want it to cost a lot of $$, Where would they cut the old one off at and how much do you think it would $$ for the hole thing and instilation?

    The Flowmaster 80 series works great on the V6. I have it and I love it. I forgot how much the muffler cost, something around 100 bucks. I installed it myself, so I dunno about installation.

      i have the cat-back system thats made for the v8's. the exhuast shop had a small problem putting it on, but its on there and it runs great. its loud and i get compliments on how it sounds.

        Flowmaster 80 series to get for V6 Camaro: #42-583
        The other muffler is 3" and is what i sued for the V8's. It could be done for your car, you'd just need 3" exhaust from the cat. It'd sound nice, but not at WOT.

            How is 42583 different than 43083, besides the inlet diameter? Flowmaster claims that all of them are for the V8's... that's why 42583 has a 2.5 inch inlet... that's stock V8 size... and the 43083 would be for anyone with a 3 inch I-pipe... however, you can weld a 3 inch muffler to the 2.25 inch I-pipe... I'm tempted to say that mine was a 3 inch inlet that the shop "adapted" to the I-pipe, but I'd have to get back to you guys on that. Also, what are we talking about installing, just the muffler or a muffler and I-pipe?

              Wrong! Stock V8 size is 2.75" not 2.5". Our stock is 2.25" (for those who don't know). Haz-Matt i think what you mean by having it welded to the cat is that they might cut off that S pipe and put an adapter onto the cat since it's outlet is only 2.25" to match the stock size. That could be correct, but not sure.

                it should not cost you more than 250 to have it installed, with the muffler and tips. I priced it and i was gettin a 3 inche custom I Pipe made at the shop, muffler and stainless tips for like 265

                  I have the 40 Series and would recommend that if you're going to buy Flowmaster then buy the 80 Series. However, I'm planning on switching to a Dynomax SuperTurbo.

                    I had my Flomaster(80.00 with shipping+/-) and dual outlets welded on to my Chrome Z28 tips ($100) for a total of $250. You could get it done for as cheap as $140 if you skimp it.

                      Another question, what would the 40 sound like on my car? I dont think I can do this till the summer because I am trying to save as much as possibel for now so I can pay for school, maybe in the summer I can do this.
                      Would I get 3" pipes from the cat back? or should I get like a 2 something?

                          What do you mean? I will probibly order Z28 tips if it has straight pipes.
                          How different will the 40 series sound? will it be more wound up? A ricery sound?

                            American Thunder Cat Back system will work on a v6, ment for v8's but w/ a little bit of work it will fit our cars.

                            Only work u need is something called a reducer. Makes the 3" pipe fit ur stock 2.25 S-pipe that goes into ur cat.

                            If the muffler shop u went to says it cant be dont RUN and go somewhere else cause they dont knwo what their talking about. Chances are their gonna F*** your car up.

                              Yes I was wrong about the size. I don't know what I was thinking. And I'm glad that you put an exclamation point after wrong, too.

                              Actually Scott, I didn't mean that "they might cut off that S pipe and put an adapter onto the cat since it's outlet is only 2.25" as I never said anything about the cat, and the word does not appear in my post. Also you do not have to use an adapter when you weld, say a 3 inch pipe to a 2.25 inch pipe. You have to adapt it, but not necessarilly with an adapter (ie, with melting and shaping).
