      Alright.... not to sound like a noob, but is there a difference between the ignition coil and the coil packs. The part that was my problem ( shown below) was supposedly the ignition coil to my mechanic, yet i thought this was the coil pack? Anyways my problems are solved due to replacing this defective part.

        those are coil packs that mount to the ignition module. so its both i guess

          That is the coil pack. Ignition coil is just a generic name, which could include the coil to a distributor, a coil pack, or a coil on plug design. You got the correct one though. That same 2/5 coil pack was the first one to go on my car too.

            For the coils if they still have the factory numbers on them you know their stock, new ones will not havethe numbers on them they will be blank. FYI.
