Any idea why my drivers side front struts keep breaking. This is the 3rd time! It appers what happens is the sturt compresses, gets stuck down, the rippes it self out of the upper sturt mount. Im kinda pissed right now, so im going to cut this short, im just tired of all the repairs ive been having to do, this car is driven so easly its not even funny.

HAve you figured out what's binding? i.e. spring, shock, suspension arms?

Is this the 3rd time with the same strut or did you replace the strut with new each time this happened??

Only thing I could guess is something on your suspension is loose or bent. Thus when the strut compresses, the loose or bent piece twists a little bit binding the strut under compression, and then it hold the strut as the suspension rebounds.

This is just a shot-in-the-dark problem I came up with. And it's the best way I could explain it. Hopefully you understand what I'm talking about.

OR- It could be a problem with the upper strut mounts. Maybe the bolts are stripped, which doesn't allow a firm hold at the top.

yes, i had to replace the sturt and upper sturt mount 3 times alrealy. I rips a hole right through the strut mount. First time i replaced it myself, then pepboys did it twice, now its done it again. Im been very busy at work and not in the mood to mess with this car when i only drive it on the weekends and have to fix a new problem every week after work. Ive been spending an average of 350 a month on repairs thats ive done myself and my mechanic on stuff i dont have time for. But i solved my problems, i traded it in yesterday for a GMC crewcab Z71 2006 white.
