hasnt it already been established that HE CAN SWAP THE ENGINE. the same sensors are used. your 98 wiring harness and computer should be JUST fine for the 97 engine and all of its sensors.:twak:
I don't see the complication. Some people make it sound worse than it really is. The sh*t is the same. Maybe use the '97 harnes and a '97 PCM but that's not that difficult to do. If you're unsure then you will just have to make the comparisons yourself so you know what to do.
nope sensors are the same, pinouts are different at the PCM maybe, but the sensors themselves are the same. No need to swap sensors out unless the 97 has some bad ones. Just use the 98 harness and it will be a direct swap

Difference in harness p/n is due to PCM pinouts. The sensors on the 97 engine can be used.
