Not all turbos use oil. I'm pretty sure Steve's is water cooled.

haha god all the details with a turbo build are confusing like i seen something that said when its water cooled u have to mount it at a certain angle or a certain degree one way

Yes mines watercooled and uses oil, I'm sure that all turbos use oil , using aa water cooled one means no turbo timer to prevent coking since I'm in a very Hot state.

Yes, straight up so oil goes down and the coolant goes pretty much level.

Coolant lines off of the tensioner, probably the only place that works well.

would it work to make your own tank to hold the water for the turbo

No, you need a pump to have it flow through the turbo when the car is on , using the coolant lines works the best this way.

i've got a watercooled motor... i think i'll still put oil in it though... just sayin:)
you wouldn't lubricate bearings with antifreeze would ya?

oil and water is best... but for rear turbo thats more work and money ...

and Remote Turbos run Approximately 500F lower turbo temperatures
