    CDNFB: no, the GM Service Manual doesn't refer it....
    You need to track your oil changes yourself. Do not depend on that light. Very simple, 6 months or 3000 miles, whichever comes first.

    BTW, the first thing that you would do after removing your car from storage would be to change the oil, so the light would need to be reset anyway.

    Easy with the !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can hear you fine without them.

      seems like a waste to change the oil before putting it in storage, then changing it again when taking it out of storage! lol
      Just so oil can sit in the pan and the pan not get rusted or whatever lol

        yeah id probably just change it one of those times he he....but this topic got way off course lol. how can i get the light to turn off. i dont need it to ever turn on. i keep track of it myself and change it regularly just the yellow light in my face when i drive at night is irritating lol
