There is one in the same position on the other side of the block as well. 1 wire connection. Just under the freeze plugs.

With how cramped it would be with all the accessories, crossmember, and steering, it is probably pretty hard to find just looking under the car. I can't really say, my motor isn't in a Camaro :p

I know the passenger's side is accessible from under the car; I'd imagine the driver's side is too.

Re: Where is the knock sensor??

No thats a block heater if you have a electrical connector coming out of the freeze plug. The knock sensor looks exactly like the second picture with the threaded part screwing straight up into the block. Knock sensor has 1 wire per side. The knock sensor is right in the middle of the red circle :p

because i think my car is pinging,im getting a rattleing under load, and wanted to check them,my haynes manual says to check the resistance value of them but after getting under the car and finding them i see that theres only 1 input to it so what do i measure the resistance between?? i also took the car for a run with it disconnected and felt no difference,it didnt get worse and i still had no ses light??

Ground. Just like the PCM does.

yeah i just figured that, thanks, im getting 100k ohms so i geusse its not that one,the other one is hard to get at so i dont know what to do about this rattle/ping noise, guess ill have to let the pros handle it.

Try running a tank of 93 octane and see if it stops. That's about $5 more then a tank of 87.
