thinking of installing a nitrous kit with just over 63000 freeways miles. i get on it plenty, but im just wondering if installing nitrous on this old of an engine would cause any imediate damage to my engine? i know nitrous is going to cause problems no matter what, but is somthing just gonna give? what future sugjestions am i lookin at if i still nitrous? what do i need to have an engine that can suport like, 150 shot no problem?

I installed my kit at 180,000km (112,500 miles), and no problems what so ever. It really depends on what kind of running order your engine is in. If your car is well maintained, runs great and you install a kit and use as many of your safety features as you can, and you run an appropriate size shot, there is no reason your engine shouldn't last you for years to come.

Most people on this board don't experiance any problems with their setups. I had quite a few problems with my old Powerdyne S/C, and I haven't had a single issue with my nitrous setup at all. Very simple, straight forward install, and the best bang for your buck hp/dollar ratio mod you can get.

As for your question on the 150 shot, that is a very big shot for a 3.8 and would require upgrades that would vary depending on if it was a dry or wet kit.

Look at all the threads with "!" on them.

My current engine had 80,000+ unknown miles on it before nitrous was sprayed through it.
