WTF happend to the directport?

Anyways, everyone always *****es about putting it before the MAF because you can spray it too much and make it go haywire...Which I am only NOW seeing syptoms of, and it doesnt hurt my car...

I would find the best direct path, I would try to find someone with a mandrel bender and get some stainless steel intake elbow made for your car, theres too many ridges in there...Air flow should always be direct free flowing, not caught up on a buch of ridges...

yeah the ridges on this stupid dryer-type hose are what i was concerned about (other than the obvious angle)..its hard to find any good intake for the 98s except for the lids..i guess it may come down to making one!

i was actually looking at a 3.5" 90* mandrel bent exhaust elbow from Jegs..stainless..id just point it down and attach a 3.5" cone filter at the bottom..and use a red 3.5" silicone coupler to attach it to the TB..thats the plan..but i'll see how this works out first..its GOTTA be better than the last one..on the right side of picture 4 you can see where the old nozzle came in and the little bump on the bottom of the air box that it had to spray through..thats where the ice was building..so anyways yeah thats the plan if this doesnt work out

            Ok, so.... dry kit?

            Air box is a rectangle

            Drill and tap either side

Single line..... to Y fitting..... then to two seperate lines into either side of box

            Make sense?

Trust me......I kinda have a bit of experience ;)

cant do it with this box :( ..that was my first choice..but (its kinda hard to explain) the bottom of the box sort of comes up towards where the filter sits on top of it..its weirdly shaped..it makes it even thinner then where it was spraying through before..the only place it really opens up big enough to spray the juice is in the back..so..should i have one nozzle stuck into each side of the box on the back??..the only problem with this is the 90* spray..it will just spray into the back corner..so should i cut the tips off to have them spray across at each other or even aimed at an angle towards the hole for the hose (or straight into the back of the box out on each side and let the 90* nozzles angle the spray towards the middle)?? ..the only problem i can see with this is that the IAT sensor would literally be about 3 inches away from direct spray

Well..... you have the lid style intake.... but it is ram air.

You SHOULD be able to...... but w/o seeing your car I could be wrong.

I'd slike to see a dual style spayer on your car.

yeah i've actually been looking for the stock air box lately..there are some junk yards that have the whole setup for like $50..but like you said..its ram air..heres my 3 ideas..

1: get an intake like you have and have dual spayers..plug them into the elbow there about 8" directly in front of the MAF

2: put 2 sprayers in the back of my ram air box aimed towards the hole and relocate the IAT

3: (most costly) start completely over with the stock air box..get a K&N filter with whisper lid and set up dual sprayers..problem is im still gonna deal with the kinked hose to the 98 angled TB

Eitehr ditch the angled intake manifold.....

Or..... run an SLP cold air kit like mine

already tried..the problem is it wont fit 98s ..i have a whole sh*tload of stuff in the way of where the metal tubes go down to the cone filters..but another idea was too get that rubber elbow from a dealer or a junk yard or something and just end the intake short

hey man..are you gonna be at the east coast fbody nationals?..im planning on going..i took care of a couple things..i wired the pump into its own system instead of feeding off the nitrous relay..but i also discovered the main problem..i had a Earl's hose with a 90* fitting on the end where it attached to the nozzle..it was leaking nitrous at that fitting and also causing some blockage where nitrous would start to freeze up and accumulate..put in a new nitrous hose..tested..good as new ..we'll see what she can do at the track tonight with hopefully a 1.8 60' injecting off the line..hopefully the t-storms will stay away!

Nope, I won't pass tech their... and I'm not changing my car to pass their rules.

I'm not installing a muffler or passenger seat on my bird.
