• what do YOU use to heat your bottle??

i have NOS's temperature controlled bottle heater (85* i believe it is)..and i am having trouble keeping pressure up..it is pretty much always around 800 - 850 psi ..are all of the NX heaters pressure controlled?..i've always stayed running a dry kit because of the bottle pressure problem..id like to set the wet kit up for more power if i can get the pressure up..id like to get some feedback from people using temperature controlled heaters (pressure transducers)..do they really work that well?..is it worth buying one?..if not..what else are you guys doing to keep your pressure up??

Yea I am not sure how my heater works if it is pressure controlled or temp controlled. I will have to look into that. It is one or the other, I will look into it more.

yup, I checked on the nx website and my heater is pressure controlled.

Is there any way to maybe up your temp. rating?

if it has a part that connects to the bottle and has wires coming off of it then it uses a pressure transducer to control it by the pressure..if it just has wires running to the heater then its temp controlled

You could also go with a NX fire and Ice Bottle Pressure Controller which makes it so you don't have to worry about the pressure at all. It turns the heater on when the pressure gets low and cools it if the pressure gets to high. That would be nice to not have to worry about turning it on and off all the time, it will be in the sweet spot whenever you need it.

that swhy its so much easier for you to get your bottle that high..so thats my next step then..get a pressure controlled heater..a lot of them are adjustable from 500 - 1200 psi ..comparing my NA times to my juiced times im guessing i lost about 30rwhp due to low bottle psi..i was looking at a post where..i forget who it was..dyno'd the car at 850 psi..then dyno'd it again at like 1100 psi and gained 40rwhp on the same shot size!

yea that is a nice increase just from bottle pressure, lol

I run dual NOS bottle warmers.

I removed the temp sensor on the warmers...I DO NOT suggest doing that!!!!

Even w/ temp sensors still in... achieving correct bottle psi was not a problem

I have no problem with PSI issues.

^ good idea as long as you keep an eye on your pressure

i found another problem with my heater..the temp sensors are mounted on the bottom of the bottle right on the heater element..NOT on the top of the bottle where they should be..so it is turning it off quicker..so im pretty positive i've got the bottle pressure thing taken care of

EDIT: yup..i just went out and removed the temp sensors and WOW it gets hot cuz those stupid things arent shutting it off immediately..it never used to even get close to that hot..problem fixed for FREE!

good to hear you fixed it. I thought it was pretty odd that you were having problems keeping your pressure up.

yeah..im still gonna add on the regulator anyway and set it to 1100 psi just to make it so that i dont have to check it all the time to make sure the pressure isnt too high..i might as well since i already bough it..woohoo!

I use a moroso 360 watt oil preheater. Looks just like a bottle heater, fits bottle fine, although is plugged into a power inverter.

I would not recommend it at all unless you keep a very close eye on your bottle. I flip it on and watch the bottle until it starts approaching 1100 and switch it off until the bottle falls below 1000 and on again. works well for $50 dollars ;)

woohoo!..i fixed the pressure problem by removing the temp sensors..i'll leave it like that till the transducer comes..just got the bottle filled..turned on the heater..and the pressure went from 800 to 1100 in just under 20 minutes..then i shut it off

sounds about right, 20 min is what it usually takes to heat it up good
