• I think i'm going to stop myself here...

I'm sure this is a dissapointment to some of you, i know its a big one to me... but i have been getting so involved in this project that i have lost sight of the real issues i could be facing...

1.) My parents think that im JUST using this kit for purge shows... im sure that if they ever find out that i used it on the engine (or worse, if something goes wrong) then i would be in REAL trouble and the bird would be no longer mine... theres no doubt about that, i have a contract on it...

2.) my 100k mile extended warranty will be shot as soon as i hit that button, and my parents will not let me use it if something breaks due to nitrous, even if i can make it look like it wasnt the nitrous' fault, and i wouldnt do that either...

3.) if i mess up my car using nitrous, i would be so pissed at myself for ruining my first car (like so many of my friends have) i would be gloomy for months lol...

I think that it is the smart decision to make... I hope it is... i mean, i dont think im ready for this, and this is my daily driver....

ive always told myself and other people, if you want a fast car, buy a fast car... (unless you have the money to replace parts and drag and such like some of you guys) but im going against my own rule right here!! somebody please tell me im making the right choice lol....

i think that as soon as my stuff gets here, im going to clean it all up and take some pictures... then it will be off to the for sale forums..

ive spent so much time/effort/ and money on this that it seems like a waste, but even knowing as much as i do about nitrous now... i still dont know as much as i should for this project...

your input please..

you could always just keep the stuff and use it for the purge shows until you have money stored up in case you do break your car using it. Just don't drill your throttle body or put the nozzle in, just make the nitrous run right to the purge valve, that way you won't be tempted to use the nitrous until you have money to pay for damages it might make.

It's a shame to see how much time and effort you put in researching it and all just to let it all go and sell it all.

It's up to you though, I can understand why you would be nervous about the complications it could bring if something went wrong. Good luck with your decision. ;)

lol thanks asdf1234, i AM a pansy, but i'd rather be a pansy with a car than a cocky SOB with a blown motor, or pissed off parents and NO car... so im just going to sell the kit and use the cash for suspension, i think auto-x would be fun and not as strenuous motor wise, besides, i wont do it as often and as far as i know, no insurance issues and its not illegal lol... and if it is, ill just upgrade suspension and make the car more fun to drive... oh how i long for the speed but im not so obsessed that Ill risk my car for it...

and 97rs4life, thanks i think that would be an ok idea, but i dont want to go around purging and showing off if i dont have the power... i dont want to be a poser like that if im not going to use it lol... but i see what your saying. maybe one day ill get a daily driver and the nitrous can go on my bird

Get 2 cars like me so you can have one F-ed up and one good one.
For my Z28 I'm going to test and tune the 3 stange nitrous on my 5.0L engine before I put the real engine in it.
Going form the test motor to the real motor will be the ignition, intake and carb. Of course they will have to be tuned to the new engine.

lol can't say its a bad idea. i bought the turbo and immediatly blew my motor. parent's weren't really pissed since i paid for the car, but im starting to wish i never got into this. Suspension sounds good to me .

as far as the warranty..what they dont know wont hurt them ;) (as for your parents thats up to you)..install the buttons in a hidden location (center console, ash tray, etc) ..i could strip my whole system out in like 20 minutes...i have a 3 year warranty on my block...and my mechanic knows i spray...if i f*ck it up...the stock internals go back in it and it gets shipped off to the company we got it from to be replaced by a new one..all i would have to do is replace any internals i fry *knock on wood*

suspention mods are cool.
Suspention mods I have bought for the V6 are, WS6 sway bar, after market wonder bar (that I will clone from grade 5 and 9 Titanium), a tubular K-member (that is coming over here so I can mod it to take a V6), new ideler arm and I'm going to try and copy the torque arm out of Titanium too.
I plain on getting some new struts, ball joints, tie rods and ends if needed and some V8 drop springs that won't drop it that much cause it will be about 200 lb lighter in frount than a V8.

i've considered doing the 1.25" drop all the way around..after i stripped a crap load of weight out of the car i've got a little more room in those wheel wells

Better safe then sorry. N2O can be great but, its not always 100% safe. If you cant afford N2O and the affect of it just don't use it. N2O isn't a toy, if used properly you can have great results and enjoy it a lot but their is always a chance of something happening in even the best setup. I say dont do it.

I second this quote. However, it's probably best that you don't spray it. Good luck with whatever else you choose to attempt then quit 7/8ths of the way through.

I've said it to everyone before spraying.... can you handle grenading an engine?

If yes... continue..... if no... stop now
