  • 75 shot?

Is it safe to have a 75 shot with a wet NX kit on just the mods I have on my RS? Some say yes and some say no. I'm going to have a cai and lid later on. Or do I need to upgrade anything?

I ran a 75 shot on just edlebrock catback, 2.5" catco, and gears+LSD (stock intake). It worked just fine for quite a while till I spun a rod bearing, but that was not because of my mods. I would suggest getting LSD because you will have traction problems with an open differential, and a freer flowing intake wont hurt.

How did your rod bearing go out? Wasn't from nitrous?

Well, nitrous... any amount... isn't safe.

If you add all safety devices it lessens the chance of critical failure.

Technically, a nitrous system can be installed on a bone stock car.

Adding intake and exhaust only improves the potential of the system.

Someone told me I could run high 13's if I had a 75 shot, do you guys agree?

I agree with that.I hit 14.1 with a wet 75 shot only with a lid and cutout. My A4 didnt like it though, it was slipping out shifts.

Nitrous wears on an engine, plain and simple. At one point my engine sucked down quite a bit of coolant which KILLS bearings, the added stress of a 75 shot just pushed it too far. I personally think that 75 is a good shot for our cars mostly stock. If I had to do it all over again, I'd go with 85 though.

But how much would it wear on mine. I have about 8k miles on it. If I used the nitrous just once in a while (RS is not daily driver) then how long do you think the engine would last and how many miles?

No one can speculate on engine life.

                  85 shot I went 1.5 seconds quicker.

75 shot gott me down to a 13.0 on a REALLY hot day

                  I could go 12's on a 75 shot

Yeah but you have a lot more mods than me. I'm just saying with exhaust and whisper ram air.
