i want to cut my cat off and get an o2 simulator, will this make my car smell?

my 1999 cam has no cat 02 sim and smells like pure petrolium :rock:
when i come to a stop its like a wave of gas fumes go forward

dude just get a really big high flow cat its like not having one anyway but u can save the money on the 02 eliminator

dont relly want to spent the extra $ on a cat cuz we dont have inspection, so i was hoping to cut it, if it wont stink lol

Yes. You're essentially removing a filter from your exhaust. Expect it to smell a little. Similar to fuel and rotten eggs.

Some high flow cats have been known to set off the rear O2 sensor.

i have no cat, and i like the smell. just like mike said, when you come to a stop you can totally smell it come forward. hell, i dont have an O2 sim....

might take it off, then if it stinks too bad put a high flow on lol....any thing else besides headers i can do to make it louder/ less rasp.....has a flowmaster and whisper lid on it

Putting a high flow cat on would help to reduce rasp. Removing the cat completely will make it rasp even more.

I've read about different things with the Magnaflow Hi-Flow cat. Some people get a code, others don't. Kind of a luck of the draw. You can always have it tuned out if you don't want a sim.
