  • FIPK for my 96.?

    This guy is selling the K&N intake from his LT1...My question is where can i get the elbow or piping that i need to make it work on my 96 3.8?

    any links to the parts will be appreciated.

    You can get them at a local Loews Or Home Depot. I'ver heard of tons of people making their intakes strictly from materials purchased from these stores.

      Yeah, quite honestly.. If you're creative enough it can look better or even more to your taste and end up way cheaper. Depending on how much he's selling that for.

I used a reducing 90* rubber elbow (4" to 3") along with a 3" or so sleeve (found in my garage, can be bought at Lowes or Home Depot, but haven't seen it on that site) and haven't had any issues. Put the intake in with the blocking plate and such on, and slide the sleeve on as far as you can; then put the elbow around the TB and rotate it so it's lined up with the intake; slide the sleeve back and over the elbow and tighten it down. Get it tight around the TB, but for the sleeve>elbow connection, just snug it up. Since it's rubber on rubber if you go too tight it'll actually slip off easier since the inner rubber piece is being compressed. then tighten the sleeve down around the intake and you'll be set :)
