I recently found a pacesetter catback system. Didn't even know they made an exhaust system for our cars. I see where the description of materials is this:

"Each system comes complete with larger-than-stock aluminized tubing, a fully-welded computer designed aluminized muffler..."

Will the aliminized tubing rust out like how the flowmasters do? If so then I think I'll just stick with my original plans of going with magnaflow.

    ???
    aluminum doesn't rust.
Rust is iron oxide. Or is it like aluminum coating?

It doesn't? Sorry for sounding like a noob, science was never my strong suit lol. I'm pretty sure it's made from aluminum, not just coated. So what does cause flowmaster's systems to rust out?

actually aluminum will corrode pretty quickly if you put certain chemicals in it...like mercury. But I don't think any of that is in your exhaust.

that exhaust isn't aluminum. it's aluminized steel.

Yes it will rust, Not as bad as Flow masters. Flow masters seem to start rusting at the welds. The tubing will not be aluminized where you weld it together and will rust faster there.

So should I probably stay away from this system?

If it costs near what you pay for a stainless system.....YES.

Keep the car in the garage and don't drive it.

Cost was 325 or something, I'll just save up the extra cash for Magnaflow. Thanks for the answers to my questions.

Try Nasty Performance on LS1tech. Nate got me a really good deal on my Magnaflow catback for my Formula.
