  • Intake/ Throttle Body Question

I'll start by saying I have a 98 V6 Camaro, and I was curious about something. Would I be able to take the intake manifold off of a 99 V6 Camaro and use it on my 98 without problems? I hate having the angled throttle body.

    Thanks

Really? Is it a different style intake?

        No.

The 95-98 UIM has the IAC valve on the side. The 99+ UIM does not, it is part of the TB.

However, I am working on a solution.

Any luck on this "solution"? I'd like to update mine. Im in the middle of a complete tear down. An intake upgrade would be nice..

No, this is NOT a simple bolt-on.

F-bodies with angled TBs can be just as fast as cars with straight TBs

That, and didn't the <98 cars have drive-by-wire throttle? 99+ has the electronic throttle doesn't it? I can't remember which year it switched.. And that right there would mean you would need a 99+ PCM too.

v6 99+ are electronic throttle, the LS1's are mechanical if memory serves me right.

Yeah but isn't everything 98 and down mechanical (wire) too, V6 and V8?

I have a 2002 so I am only going off of memory. But that would be a bigger factor than the fact that it's angled.
