 I have a whisper lid and I'm thinking about adding a SLP Cold Air Induction. Will I notice a difference in performance?

    Re: SLP Cold Air Induction

I've installed the SLP CAI without a Whisper Lid. At the moment, I have yet to notice any difference in performance. I'd get a Whisper Lid if it wasn't $149.00 for a piece of plastic.

      Was it hard to install?

No. Pretty easy. The hardest part is just cutting the air-box. The second hardest part is lining up the drill bit to drill pilot holes. The rest is just easy =)

i just installed mine yesterday. pretty easy and straight forward.
just set out 30 mins-1 hr to do it.
also have a jigsaw (what i used) or a dremel rotary tool handy.

          found some good instructions here:
          http://www.blackcamaro.com/cai.htm

Edit: I will have a whisper lid within the week, and will update to tell you how it performs.

the instructions from SLP suck, the small rubber gasket that goes in the front of the air box isn't even shown on the diagram, so yeah thats about the only thing I hated about the instructions, but the install shouldn't take to much time, and when you cut your air box don't cut to much off and not have enough space to place your gaskets around the outside perimeter of the box, that sucks a*ss lol

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
