98 to 2000+ exhaust conversion

  • 98 to 2000+ exhaust conversion

    I have a 98 3.8L with a B&B catback system installed. Interested in taking off my stock exhaust manifolds and installing a pair of tubular headers from a 2000+ 3.8L donor car.

    What besides the headers do I need to make the conversion? Y-pipe? Anything else?

    I know I could go aftermarket header route but I can probably pick up the factory headers from a salvage yard for cheap.

    Main reason for conversion is to facilitate spark plug change. Car has 135,000 miles with factory spark plugs still inside!

    ac lines need to be swapped or bent abit to make room, ypipe needed from 00+ car.

    some have ported the manis a bit to try and gain a few hp

      Do search....but 97rs4life pretty much handled it
