  • Need some measurements....

If anyone is willing to go out to their car, and measure their upper intake manifold from top to bottom (to the TB or whatever is the highest point on the upper intake, depending on your year car). Lemme know what year car you have. I also need a measurement from the bottom of the upper intake manifold to the LOWEST part of the engine bay, where the windshield meets up at the front.

Going to try to make some arrangements in the future of making a custom fabbed intake, so if anyone can give me those two measurements, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks
    Wes

This can't be that hard of a request.

Thats fine. Do you understand tho what exact measurements I need?

I have to have something to draw up for an upper intake. Going to have one fabbed up with some scrap aluminum my dads friend has in his shop. LARGE scraps, more than enough to make a good upper intake out of.

Ok, so for the second measurement, your taking about above the engine (which basically is our dash) right?

So basically measure bottom manifold to top of manifold, then bottom manifold to top of engine bay.

I will post pics of what I measure to ensure it is what your looking for.

EDIT: Wrong pic, from the pic, it looks like the TB is the highest point, but is not underneath the dash

yeah, you get the idea, I also need total length and width. Remember, I need the measurement from the bottom, to its highest point, whether it be under the dash or not, but I also need a measurement from the bottom TO the dash.

Wes, I'm still at my dorms, I couldn't get a ride home today. I am most likely going home on Sunday to do laundry.

I apologize for the delay, but why can't someone who drives there car everyday and/or someone who has there car in there garage simply go out and measure this?

I can still do it for you if nobody steps up before then

Im in no immediate rush, and to that, take your time if need be. I need exact measurements if possible. Just make sure when you measure it, measure from the bottom of the upper intake, and watch the gasket, don't include that as part of the measurement.

I haven't been home in weeks. I didn't go home Sunday as planned (wearing dirty laundry infact). The dorms close Friday so I HAVE to be home by then.

I got some tonight, the engine was still hot and it was dark out so I couldn't get all of them but these are what I got...

Top of Intake to Engine bay 'ceiling' - 2-5/8" up front
Top of Intake to Engine bay 'ceiling' - 1-7/8" in back (there's a hump in the 'ceiling' near the back)
And then, where the intake connects to the TB is a 3/4" height increase

I can get more tomorrow when it's cold and light out
