I went to an exhaust shop today and me and the guy decided to run straight dual pipes on my car (2000 3.8L Maro). Is this Legal in the state of Illinois? Will it sound loud? Will it sound great at idle but ricey at higher RPMs? Input needed ASAP!!!
yes it is illegal to alter you exhaust system from oem. it will be loud. should sound good at idle as long as the pipe size is right and will sound ricey up top.
Well after the CAT they are gonna run a Y Pipe into 2 pipes. I Said 2.5" pipe cuz I was not sure of the stock pipe on the car. If its 2.25 then thats what it is. The 3.25" pipes that they will be running into are only 10" long. If theres something badly wrong with this setup please let me know before I bring it in tomorrow!
yeah it is illegal here in the land of lincoln. I got a catback dynomax super turbo exhaust put in with two chrome camaro z28 tips, and it looks and sounds great, even up top in the high RPM's. I would try that route, it worked well for less than $250.
