I finally got my ChromeIntakes CAI. I thought i'd post some pics for anyone interested.

    assembled, laying on my bed.

comparison... there is a terrible bottleneck in the plastic stock pipe.

can't put the tube for cold air on yet cuz i'm at school, but for now its got 1/2 the system, and the 6.5" K&N

I couldnt take it for a drive cuz I had to get to class, lol. I'll probably check it out tomorrow... sounds like a turbo spool up when u hit the gas. gonna seafoam this weekend and then grandma drive the next tank to try to get 28 mpg. I'll post again with seat-of-pants results tomorrow.

That took literally 10 minutes... it'll be another 1/2 hour when i go home to get under the front so i can install the 2nd tube to make it "cold" air... right now its just unrestricted air.

u need an elbow. u could slap a filter right on with little fabrication but it would be pointless for our cars

Does anyone have problems with it rusting? Also how much of a gain do you feel?

I was also looking at those intakes off ebay, was wondering how well they fit on the 97 (stage2) or if the stage 1 is good enough, thanks for any replys

I have one in my 97, it fits fine but it was tough to get it in there b/c its that tight. Looks great though.

doesnt look too bad.. good job.

i also bought a chrome intake from chromeintakes. full cai from the throttlebody. they however sent me the wrong one, called them up. horrible company IMO sent it back (s&h from my pockets), got the full one which eventually rusted. took it off and put the stock one back on.

That sucks... i'll be cleaning mine all the time now to keep it from rusting.

3" diameter T-306 heat-resisting polished Chrome Intake Tube

What material is T-306? the pipes are light so idk. i cant believe an intake would rust.
