K&N with new piping will it work?

Im thinking about putting a K&N FIPK on a 3.4 and then replacing the piping thats from the intake to the TB. Right now i just have a peice of crap intake off of ebay would i see a noticable differance if i did this and would it be worth it to replace the stock bellowing on the intake also how much of a gain would you expect me to see on my 1/4 and on my hp rating?

it will probally show a gain, dont know how much of a gain or if it would be worth the cost or not.
