the clamps are crap...i dont understand why flowmaster even sends them out...but either get U clamps or go to a muffler shop and have em weld it together
so i got my 80's and tried to install...and what a b*tch is was.
the clamps dont even tightn good....unless im doing it wrong?
other wise afterall (still not done but mostly) it sounds nice...
as with headers tighten the nuts evenly and not too tight at first. heat up the car and then let it cool down and re-tighten where neccessary, repeat. but yah the supplied hardware aint the best quality. and yah welding it would be best.
what i did at first was put the clamp completely on the the muffer inlets, the pipes slid into those. but clamping there just bent the inlets abit and the pipes still wouldnt stay still. so i put half the clamp on the inlet and half on the pipe. held somewhat ok but trust me its just headaches-get it welded as soon as you can. or buy a welder like me and others did. a 120v gasless wire-flux aint too much and its mostly point and shoot. just practice on scrap metal first.
yeah im gettn it welded ASAP/ the thing Rackels and makes alot of noises and the box part like keeps falln so it allmost hits the ground...reallly annoyingggg.
