  • Carbon Fiber Lid Peeps, please step in...

Thanks. Where did you get your carbon fiber lid? It's only listed for the LS1. Does it fit both the 6 and 8? Cheapest place to get it? How's it look overall? I know it's not real carbon fiber, so does it look ok? Let me know... Thanks for any input you can provide.

if you read what it says, it says all of their intake lids are available in carbon fiber :)

looks like $179 for your application.

When I first saw the 180 price tag, I was like.... ehhh it's worth it for true carbon fiber, found out it was just plastic with the fake carbon look, said hell no and bought the regular overpriced piece of plastic. :)

Well when i get on it in my car it flexes the lid. I constantly have to re insert the little tabs on the lid into the slots. IMO if I had a CF lid it would be all frayed and scuffed by now(I get on it alot..lol). Plastic is just so forgiving.

Thanks for that bit of info. I'm new to the lid thing... my 96' is set up way different. I'm thinking that small tabs can be put on the lid or the clamps to keep them from scratching it up. The clear lid also caught my eye but I'm not sure if that's only for LS1's or what. It's between the fake cf one or the clear one (if it fits).. but I'll probably end up with the cf one.

no one sells the clear one for our cars but if you really wanted it, you could make it work by getting some flexible tube and bring it from the to center to the side where your throttle body is.

Thanks... I ended up ordering the CF package with the filter this morning.
