  • 12SECV6 needs help ASAP Stage 1 TB upgrade!

Hey everyone, this is 12secv6, my buddy is helping me out cause I can not
    go online right now.

As you know my return spring on the throttle body has lost its sprung and
    sometimes sticks open.

Well, I went to the GM dealer today and found out the replacement part
cost..... $400+, why??? because you have to get a new throttle body?!?!?!?!
    Bastards!

So, next logical step, UPGRADE to a better throttle body. I am aware of
    www.intenseracing.com and www.zzperformance.com having a stage 1 throttle
    body for the L36 engine.

Both list "other applications for the L36." I sent an email to intense, no
response yet. I spoke with ZZP and was told the grand prix L36 and the
    fbody L36 TB is different?!?!?!

I could have SWORN there are a couple members on this board with ZZP or
intense racing stage 1 throttle bodies.

I am racing on the 29th attempting to get into the 13's N/A and this return
spring issue is something I need to have addressed before then.

Does anyone know anyone who HAS an intense/ ZZP stage 1 throttle body on
    their 4th gen 3.8 L v6 f body?

    Are there other options?

Sorry for the post in the lounge and intake/ exhaust but due to time
    constraints this occured.

    Any help is ALWAYS appreicated!

It doesn't work James... Sorry all of the stories I've heard is people ordered them then sent them back because they wouldn't work. They are FWD only as the intakes are different on the FWD L36.

Hey James, I have another stock L36 TB in my garage. I broke it down, thouroughly cleaned, painted and polished it, then re-assembled it. It is complete with all sensors and return spring too. No gaskets though. If you would like to borrow it, email me your address. I would like to have it back by mid-summer though (if possible).

I've always been told the Grand Prix throttle body was different.
Also I've been under the belief that there are no aftermarket throttle bodies for our cars.

unfortunatly they are with out a doubt different..

I would research a PN for that spring.. that or search for a suitable replacement..
