  • To Cat or Not To Cat...

Hey everyone I got a 1992 Camaro. My question is will i get more horsepower from having a straight pipe or will i get more horsepower from having a high performance cat? Any input would help im getting the exhaust tomorrow. Thanks

The cat will help to keep some backpressure which will help to keep some low end torque

EDIT: basically its your choice between more hp or keeping low end torque

a high flow cat will not cause much of a power loss. and it will help reduce smog in smog prone areas , and help to keep the pollution in the groundwater suply at a minimum

(im probably the only tree huggin hippy that drive a camaro arent i?)

No I am going to stick with a cat too. I am not going to tell people what to do, but I think we should use cat's. They help limit pollution, although they are a cause of global warming.
