  • MAF modifying, please advise

I finnally took off my MAF screen to see how it would run, haven't noticed any bad side effects yet. I was really looking at the big black plastic thing the MAF sensor was in and figured that had to be causing some air flow blockage. Look here(http://www.geocities.com/ttop34/CarP...dification.jpg) and see if removing everything Xed out in red and super glueing it back together would be a good idea or not.

I also thought about maybe adding some material to the back of this, triangular piece of material to let air go around it with less turbulance. Possibly on the bottom front of this piece too to cause air to move around it faster. I just don't know exactly what everything of this does and why it was designed how it is. Here's more pictures of it that I took if you want to see.

The PCM is calibrated to the way the MAF setup is now.. If you cut the bottom half off your car will be runing VERY rich and will not be calibrated correctly at all.

    Not a good idea.

Dang, we have an intake/exhaust board? I'm still used to only one technical board.

So what about adding material to make the air flow around the thing faster and smoother? Would that help any?

I noticed Magnus that you really trimmed yours down, did you have to change something in the computer afterwards? If so, how?

Magnus, you here still? Did you have any improvement with what you did to your MAF sensor housing? How did you get yours to run right?
