• Moving to CA with modified exhaust

I'm moving from Virginia to California in a few weeks and I'm worried about passing the smog standards there. I've put a Flowmaster 80 series on my Firebird and some tips. For anyone who lives in CA or has moved there recently, will I have any problems? The worst case scenario is that I'll have to remove the muffler and tips and have a big hit to my wallet to downgrade.

nice car. you wont need to change anything if you're comming to california.

despite what you hear the cops arent that bad at pulling over domestics. I drove around with open headers, and didnt catch flak.

You'll be fine, where in california ya moving to?
I guess I\'d have answer your question with another question.

How many Abidiginals do you see in modeling??????

headers, 3inch magnaflow cat, Loudmouth
99 Midnight Blue Firebird
3.8L A4

I have the loudmouth and get stared at sometimes by cops, but have never been pulled over. Before that I had the same 80 series muffler you have and never had a problem with cops or smog once. You'll be fine. Welcome to SJ, maybe I'll see you driving around =)

Cops wont be a problem 99% chance you WILL have to throw on a stock muffler to pass smog tho.

you don't need a stock muffler to smog in cali. With your setup you should be fine as long as all your O2 factory sensors catylitc convertor and egr are in place and working.

I recently ran into a problem where when I drove my battery gauge showed low voltage. I compulsively replaced the battery and it was still doing the same...

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
