• Open Headers!!! 3.4L sound clip

Hopefully I can get a movie up soon. This taped recording sounds pretty bad but it's all I have right now.

Damn, that sounds mean as hell. To be honest the 3.4 doesn't get that much rasp really when you have open headers.Only problem I can think of is when you're riding the freeway and it starts to drone your ears will pop.
Sounds like a mean mother thought.

I got the exhaust hooked back up. Sounded really quiet when I first started her up but now it's a little louder. I think I'm going to have to change my fuel filter or something because it seems like it's starving for fuel, but it still runs really good.

hehe the drone gets ba, I used to drive around 24/7 like that, I bent a cutout botl and I think I had it open like that or 3 months. The drone gets old, ESPECIALLY on road trips. But I did get lots of comments on it.

One night at a car meet a guy had a decibel meter, from 5 feet behind the car, and my cutout in front of the CAT, I pegged the meter at 135 decibels reving the motor.

My 3.8L going through the cat only registered 108 decibels testing it the same way.

I would hate to have a 16 second car that sounded like it ran 10's though. JMO.

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
