  • Filter Kones - Help

I am a first time aftermarket filter cone buyer.. and I do not know if getting a K&N filter for like 60 bucks, or a cheap filter that ricers use which looks exactly like K&N for 20 dollars will really make a difference...

I am going to make my own CAI with the help of a friend who built his own, using a K&N filter cone.

    Thanks for your help

i would wager to say that the K&N are a little more for a reason. Dont go the cheap route and stick with the good stuff

The K&N and the APC cones (I used an APC on my CAI) are exactly the same as far as design and such. The oil used may be a bit different but you can use a K&N filter cleaning kit on the import filters. K&Ns cost more because they are K&N for the most part.

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
