• Exhaust help received and needed

I must say after searching this board several times and speaking with Viper this board is by far the best source of information I could have asked for when looking for my new exhaust.

I was looking into a loudmouth and a highflow cat and everything I needed to find was here in one form or another. The install kit needed, o2 sensors on in the system, which cat to get, anything I asked myself that I needed to cover was here. Except for one last thing that I just can't seem to figure out that seems to be of personal preference. When I take this to my friends dad's shop should I ask him to get it welded on or have it all bolted on. I figured if a piece goes bad and its all bolted than it should be easier to replace. What are your thoughts I would love to know.

Long time reader, first time poster.

My preference would be to clamp the muffler to the I-pipe and tail pipes and weld everything else. This way you can change out the muffler easily and cheaply if you want a different sound. The clamps on the muffler are also easy to monitor and I have my dynomax muffler clamped to the my stock I-pipe and have had no problems with it.

If you are going with the loudmouth then you won't have the option of clamping the muffler because the muffler(resonator) is in the middle of the I-pipe.

I just ordered my 3'' Catco from Summit, everything should be put together by thursday or this weekend depending on weather and whatever else I might need to bolt this all on. If something comes loose I guess I'll just have to take it to the shop and get it welded.
