Yea I am pretty sure that what your talking about is normal. It's more of like a swishing sound like air is being sucked in. As for do you notice differences quickly, the computer is supposed to adjust to the added amount of air so it may take a little bit. Give it a week it should be faster. It should make the car sound a little more deeper. What kind of exhaust do you have??? Might want to recheck the hookup just to make sure that the slp is on right.

When the engine's cold in the morning and u fire up the car, you hear a loud "growling noise" or whatnot from the intake. Thats normal.

As soon as the car warms up a bit, noise quiets down.

Exhaust WILL sound deeper, more air coming into the engine.

And if im not mistaken, computer re-adjustes itself automatically as soon as u install the intake.

You'll notice the best gains in cooler temps. Also when its more humid in the summer, car will run a bit better.

OH yeah mine did that too!!! It's nothing to worry about, after it gets warmed up it will quiet down a lot, but you can definitly hear it when you get on it!!! I actually reset my computer, when I put mine on, all I did was to disconnect the battery while I was installing it, so it was off for like bout and hour. Then all I did was to take my car out for some "reprograming" :D I drove it for bout an hour or so, at several different speeds, and several differrent throttle positions. Yeah I would definitly say that I noticed a difference. I mean just looking at the stock piece compared to the SLP piece, You can tell why you would have more power!!!! ;) I can't wait till my dynomax superturbo goes on tommorow. that should definitly help with the performance too!!!!

If im not mistaken, (i think i read this somewhere on the board)

But w/ the OBDII system, you cant reprogram your computer by just simply "disconnecting your battery" You actually ahve to buy an Auto Tapper to reprogram certain codes you recieve, Like SES and stuff.

                Thats what i rememberd reading.

I also has an SES light and disconnected my batter for almost and hour and a half, nothing happed, stations still programmed, clock was fine, and SES light was still on. Only way i got rid of it was by borrowing an A-tapper and reprogramming.

Another thing is an HPP3 reprogrammer, just rememberd that.
