  • SLP Cold Air HELP! Please!

I am in the middle of installing my SLP Cold Air Intake (which came with pretty lame instructions).

I do not know where to cut the air deflector and how crucial the cuts are. I don't want to do it wrong and not allow air into my car. I know how to cut the airbox that goes on top of the stainless steel intake thing, but I'm confused about getting the stainless steel thing and the black plastic kinda vertical air deflector thing to fit together. (SLP said I have to "trim" the deflector)

Does it matter what I do - as in are the cuts crucial or do I just need to make it fit.

Is the air deflector needed now?

yo i just got one the other day and had the same problem. basically if you know how the air deflector is going to sit next to the intake, just line up the holes on the bottom of the intake with the deflector. then score the outline of the intake to the deflector... and then cut the outline. it worked for me. hope that helps

I figured it out thanks to a tip from somebody. I figured I would post it to let everyone know. The fasttoys ram air instructions are great for showing you where to cut.

      Get them at:

Thanks Ed. Just got mine today, and the enclosed instructions looked like the retarded cousin of a photocopied fax of a carbon copied lithograph or something. ( get my drift? )

          hehe,
also note the good advice of putting a piece of cardboard over your radiator during installation so you don't bang it up.

I finished it yesterday, so email me if you have any questions.
