    Hey guys,

I was wondering if you fellas who have 98's with the whisper lid use the cheap black ducting that came with the lid or did you find a "better" replacement for it? Mine seems to be getting pretty worn out :( , anybody know what I could use for a replacement? Let me know if you do.

    Thanks!

    Joe

I am using the RK Sport lid but had the same prob, raise your air box(put 3 washers under the 4 10mm bolts) and it will straighten it out so it wont rub, then if the tube is messed up too much, you may have to call adn get another one from somewhere, or make one???

I've always hated that cheap dryer hose untill this past weekend when I had a nitrous backfire on the dyno. The dryer hose was toasted but it saved my whisper lid from exploding. Luckily the dyno operator had some spare Nascar ducting which is much stronger and better material. I have no idea where he got it but it's used to duct air to the air cleaners. Check out my carnage below. you can see a closeup pic of the new hose in the burntloom shot.

I have been using the hose that came with it for 20,000 miles with no problems. I just make sure to check it every once in a while after it came off on me a couple times early on. I also spray it down with armorall a few times a year.
