  • How do you eliminate the air silencer?

How do I get rid of it on an '02? Replace it with a peice of pipe? How do I take it off do I just pry those plastic things at the base with a screwdriver?

you can go to home depot and buy a 3" pvc connector thing and replace the air silencer with it. It is a really tight fit. That is what I did. I also filed down the fins onthe air box lid. Or you could get a whisper lid

Can you give me the site for the wisper lid? Why would it be better than the pipe?

Do you mean 3" diameter or 3" length, or both? With the pipe can I easily swap the airsilencer back in for warranty repairs? I have a 100,000 mile warranty and don't want to throw away money by voiding it.

It is 3" around. It is used to connect two 3" pvc pipes together. It is pre cut. It is very easy to install and uninstall. The dealer won't even know that you ever had it.

Has anyone figured out a good way to do this on the 98?

                Arctic02:
I would recomend just removing the fins from your stock airbox. It's basically the same thing as a whisper lid except some of them raise the height of the lid. I'd just assume save the money for something else unless your worried about the warranty. I have no idea if this would void it. If you decide to do that you might as well do the free ram air mod too. Again not as good as buying it but hey it's free.

The silencer doesn't need to be taken out if I have a K&N FIPK, right?

Are you sure that's your best time??? Is this your first time driving a manual? You should be mid 15s with your mods. REALLY not trying to flame, just asking???

Mine is low 15s, and has your mods plus exhaust.
And auto, maybe it's easier for me to sit on the gas pedal. :D
