• Oh God! Shut it up!!!

If anyone has noticed I have been very concerned about what I will do with my exhaust system. I really really dont want a system that will sound bad. I am very scared of something that will give me an annoying droning sound or even much worse a very rice rockety sound. Either little noise or a nice throaty sound. What should I look for and watch out for?
There is fast, too fast, and way too fast. Way too fast is almost fast enough.

you have no idea what a drone is until youve had the [watch your mouth!] loudmouth.

theres been times when ive had someone in the backseat that they cant even hear what im saying

Please, watch your mouth in this forum

Additionally, every exhaust system (unless you have a LOT done to your car) you put in WILL rice at at high RPM's. We just dont have the displacement and airflow that v8's have. So get used to drone or rice otherwise stick with your stock exhaust.

My vote is anti-Magnaflow. I really don't like the way it sounds, just too lazy to get another one. Probably doesn't sound too good cuz only the muffler is switched.

I bought a 00 SS muffler (same as the WS6) from a junkyard. It was CHEAP, sounds and looks good!

Rices like a son of a b!tch. I have the whole Edlebrock cat back. 3" in dual 2.5" out. I'm telling ya, anything over 2k RPM sounds like cr@p.

Also, I have heard that the LT1 take offs sound somewhat decent. Although I tend to agree that the 3.8L just can't cut it.

if you want less noise, go with an SS/WS6 exhaust system setup.

Otherwise, be happy with the performance gain and quit whinin

and yes, moving to intake and exhaust.

Hey Man, I'm having the same problem you are.

Best bet will be V8 Take-Off.

V6 Mustangs have that problem as well.

**** all that, I'm doing RKSport headers with 3" pipe to an electric cutout where the cat. is running more 3" pipe to a flowmaster 80 series.

But im partial to loud ****in f-bodies, my old Formula WS6 had straightpipes to dual flowmasters

Must be something specific to your setup. My exhaust sounds quite mean. 3" crush bent pipe all the way back with 2.5" dumps. Maybe your cat is causing your rasp problems.
