It replaces the stock radiator support also and comes with a filter that I *believe* is the Corvette filter. I would imagine it would work slightly better then the standard lids out there, although I've never used it myself.
i went from the whisper lid to this system and could feela difference. i agree the special tubing could be a little better but over all the system is great the bottom of the box is already removed. it is a good system but remember to take the rubber holders out of the bottom of the factory air box that suppoort the readiator and trade them or you have to tap screw the readiator in like i did but that was my bad. but it is a good system and deffinantly flows well. you could here my butterfly valve open and suck air in when i replaced mine when you stood outside the car and heard it rev.its good stuff
