  • Opinions on this plan?

I've pretty much decided to update my manifolds to solve my plugs/wires problem, I'd like to overhaul the exhaust at the same time.

    New manifolds, 2.75" Y-pipe, 3" in/out cat, 2.75" I-pipe, and my current dynomax muffler.

Anyone see any outstanding problems with this theoretical setup? I think I can find the manifolds, I-pipe, and cat, but I don't know where to look for the Y-pipe.

Y-pipe will more than likely have to be made to spec for you.

I saw a y-pipe that flowmaster makes, somebody put it on an LS1. I'm looking for one right now for my exhaust, I'll let you know if I find it.

Guardsman - That'd be great, if you could let me know.

        Would a stock LT1 Y-pipe work?

No, LT1 and LS1 Y-pipe will NOT work.

            Why such a big exhaust?
            I have 2.5 inch y pipe, 2.5 in and out cat, 2.5 i pipe, 2.5 s pipe, 3 inch cat back
I think it is kinda overkill

I'm having a PITA of a time finding that y-pipe, flowmaster doesn't list it on their website.

flowmaster makes no Y pipe for the v6. LS1 Y pipes run dual cats so that wouldnt work.
