• what size tailpipes on your exhaust?

I have 2.5" tailpipes with a flowmaster 80's. Would 3" pipes make it louder? Also, is the 40's series louder than the 80's? ANY input would be great!

actually 40 series is louder and sounds crappier to me...no offense dude.

I don't think the tips will make too much of a difference but I only have small 2.5" tips.

Nope. The lower the number, the louder the noise. HOWEVER, a 40 series or 30 series might not sound as good. As for the 80 series, mine is in the trash along with EVERYTHING behind the cat. I had my exhaust guy weld a small turndown in where the "S" pipe was, so I don't have tailpipes.

Well I think the 40 series is louder, however i have heard 50 series and they don't seem very loud.

when i was looking at flowmaster a few months ago i was told the 80 series and 40 series were similar in actual decible levels, but the 80 had a deeper more "muscle" car sound. Look at the interior and exterior tone levels for the two. Not doubting anyone, but a little clarification would be appreciated.

edit: also about the lower the # = louder comment... just look at the description of the 30 series; it says its not as loud as the 50.
