  • Will the 94-97 K&N Cold Air Kit work on my 97 3.8???

    What the topic says, I know a guy selling the 94-97 K&N Cold Air Kit for $120 and I want it but he said I may need an adaptor or something. Anyone know if it'll fit or will I need this adaptor or whatever?

    i believe it can, you'll just need the 1le elbow. about $80 if i remember correctly, so that'll put you at about 200, which is the same as the slp

      Damn, I'll just buy the SLP one brand new then, this one is used.

        just using common sense if the part says it's for 94 - 97 and your car is a 97...viola...it'll work.

        as long as you have the bending pipes from the TB for your intake and not the whisper lid setup you're fine

          I wasn't sure If the 97 LT1 was the same setup as my 97 3.8, that's why I asked.

            the only difference is a 90 degree elbow and you do not have to buy the 1le elbow that is crazy.

            You could make the part with nascar tubing or just use some plumbing hardware from the hardware store.

            120 for it is a bit high. Perhaps 100, i had the fipk on my 3.8 and loved it.

              I told him I'd give him $100 and he said if this one guy don't buy I'd get it. I think it's better than paying $200 or more for a brand new kit from SLP or something.

                Or you can do what I did;

                Go to a junkyard, find a used LT1 elbow = $10
                When installing, cut the outer lip off the LT1 elbow where it connects to the MAF screen. Just the outer lip, so that the elbow will fit onto the throttle body?

                After that clamp it down, that's how I did it. no leaks or anything wrong (SES light...whatever)

                A little ghetto, but a cheap fix!
