K&N filter or intake...?

will just a k&n filter to replace my stock filter, give me as much or almost as much performance as the complete intake kit itself?

The entire intake will be better. When I swapped my paper filter with a K&N i couldn't tell a difference except better gas mileage.

K&N filters don't improve performance. The main point of a K&N is to give you a filter that lasts the entire life of your car. Sure, the slightly better airflow it provides might add .0055hp or so, but that's as good as nothing.

If you want noticeable horsepower, go for intake and exhaust components.

I dunno, but it helped me perf. wise when i bought my slp cai imo. i have a feeling they both added about 5 maybe a bit more power, i felt the car was so much responsive, and quicker over 50 mph. i'd say KN helped me... but it wont do much unless u have cai so u get more air getting pushed into the engine. so basically, it will give u maybe 1 most 2 without cai and lid. u get them too, i'd say 10-15 hp (lid, kn and cai)

Lid??? Its a 95 with a 94 engine, sounds like he is talking about a 3.4
