  • electric cutout opener?

there are only two that i know of

    http://www.quicktimeperformance.com
    and
    http://www.mccordcg.com/mpp/mpp.htm

i cant decide which one i think will be better, i have heard that the mccord power plate has a problem with burning motors but is supposed to be fixed with their 2nd version of this, just curious if any one has either or was also lookin at gettin one... thanks

Both are great, the McCord 2nd version is much improved, make sure to get that one. The QTP is 3.5 inch though, if that makes a difference.

I'd go with the McCord v2. That's the one I plan on getting down the road.

hope that people will install these for you. i was told by several places that ANY cutout that is capable of being opened or closed from inside the car is illegal and cannot be put on any car. what i would suggest (if no one will put the electric one on) is getting one of the cable driven cutouts. that way you can have a welder put on the cutout and then when you get home, you can install the cable and run it up through a grommet underneath your car. those are just as good as the cutouts, without the fancy buttons/switches/lights. you can also hide those in your console or under your seat or something so if you get pulled over for your car being too noisy, it won't be obvious you have a cutout. the cable driven ones will
                  run you around $20.

Only problem with the cable driven cutouts is that the butterfly valve rattles a lot and it doesn't close all the way when you do close it. I speak from experience.

Go to CamaroZ28.com, look up the member Joe Broadman. He has a LT1 w/ N20 and uses one of those electric cutout thingys. Email him and ask him about it.
